Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

Household Hazardous Waste is that portion of a household product which is no longer usable, leftover, or not wanted and has to be disposed of. You can tell if a product is hazardous if it has words like CAUTION, WARNING, POISON, or FLAMMABLE on the label.

PRC has produced a handbook on HHW:

Hazardous Waste in the Home: How to Safeguard Your Health & the Environment

This booklet covers the basics of HHW--

  • what it is
  • how it affects our health and the environment
  • steps to take to minimize the impact of HHW
