BACKGROUND ON COLLECTION EVENTS
Since 2002, PRC has been actively involved in hosting one-day collecti
on events for items that are difficult to recycle or dispose. PRC has conducted collections for appliances, tires, latex paint, electronics, propane tanks, used furniture and other materials.
The concept for the collections grew from the need to address residents' concerns about where to dispose of particular items. The collections provide individuals a responsible disposal outlet and offer an alternative to simply discarding material in a landfill. All materials collected at PRC events are recycled, refurbished, or responsibly disposed.
